If you have ever been mesmerized by videos of paint cascading over a canvas to create stunning, marble-like cells, this is the workshop for you. Fluid art, or acrylic pouring, is an incredibly freeing medium that requires zero drawing or traditional painting skills.

The Magic is in the Mix

The secret to a great pour isn’t just the paint—it is the medium. In the first half of the workshop, we will dive into the science of viscosity. You will learn our studio’s specific recipe for mixing acrylic paints with pouring mediums and silicone oil to achieve those highly sought-after “cells” and lacing effects.

Techniques We Will Cover

We will practice three distinct pouring methods on smaller tiles before moving to your final 16×20 canvas:

• The Dirty Pour: Layering multiple colors into a single cup before pouring.

• The Flip Cup: Inverting the cup onto the canvas and lifting it for a dramatic release.

• The Swipe: Dragging a tool across the paint to stretch colors and activate cells.

Dress for a mess! We will provide aprons, but fluid art is notoriously unpredictable.
